DENVER, Oct. 24, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Iconic sandwich chain Quiznos is today calling for the creation of a new calendar day – October 32nd - to support the Spongmonkeys' demand for a recovery day after Halloween, their favorite holiday.

Quiznos mascots and Spotify stars The Spongmonkeys are calling for October to be extended by one day, making October 32 a reality.

To honor the movement, Quiznos will offer fans a free 8" sub in the US (or 9" sub in Canada) on October 32, with a $10 purchase. To get in on this free sub offer and join the movement to make October 32 come true, fans must download and sign up for the Quiznos Toasty Points app or be an existing member.

The Spongmonkeys are small, affectionate and friendly creatures who love subs, road trips, and Halloween As they go all out, every year on Halloween, on a 24-hour trick-or-treating marathon, the Spongmonkeys want to use the extra day to recover from the dramatic celebration.

October 32 would give everyone (not just Spongmonkeys) a chance to recover after a heavy day of trick-or-treating, bobbing for apples, and costume parties lasting long into the night on Halloween. It would also memorialize the Quiznos' Spongmonkeys, who recently returned from peoples' nightmares to the airwaves with their debut single

Quiznos is picking up this campaign on the stern insistence of the Spongmonkeys, its chaotic mascots who love nothing more than the subs, roadtrips and Halloween.

The Spongmonkeys commented, "We love the subs and we love Halloween.  Celebrating until the cows come home is part of any Spongmonkey's DNA.  We party, we trick-or-treat, we wear our toasty sub costumes, and because we also love October, we want it extended by one day.  October 32 is our dream, so let's make it a reality."

Speaking about the logistics, the Spongmonkeys said, "We see October 32 as a national recovery day – simple. We'll just delay November 1 by a day so other great holidays, such as National Calzone Day and International Pet Groomer Appreciation Day would still be celebrated, just postponed by a day.

Quiznos CMO Brent Philip commented, "The Gregorian calendar was last changed in 1582, more than a century before the Earl of Sandwich was born. In the years since we've perfected the sandwich but the calendar has stayed the same. This year we want to change that."
