Who we are
EMSF Lisboa was founded in Lisbon in 1971.
Since its creation, the organisation has been dedicated to distributing corporate news and press releases directly to Portugal’s leading newspapers, newsrooms and broadcasting organisations. Its activity began at a time when the speed of information transmission depended mainly on direct contact and technologies that are now considered historic.
Its international connection also began in 1971 through a distribution agreement with UNS — Universal News Service. In 1991, the merger of UNS and PNA created Two-Ten Communications, which became one of the leading distributors of corporate and commercial news in the United Kingdom.
Between 1996 and 1997, Two-Ten Communications was acquired by PR Newswire and integrated with Newsdesk, creating PR Newswire Europe. The collaborative relationship continued throughout the successive corporate transformations of the international network.
In 2015, following the acquisition of PR Newswire by Cision, the collaboration continued in the distribution of press releases and corporate content, preserving the professional relationship developed over several decades.
Today, EMSF Lisboa remains an organisation specialised in the distribution of press releases, mainly in Portuguese, serving journalists, newsrooms and media professionals as its principal audience.
The technological and visual modernisation now underway aims to preserve the identity built since 1971, adapt it to contemporary digital communication requirements and strengthen EMSF Lisboa’s position as a link between companies, international agencies and Portuguese media organisations.
